Teaching is an art, and few do it better than Dr. Ted Swartz of the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning, who has elevated his craft to new creative levels in the classroom.
Swartz, 58, believes every student can achieve, regardless of their circumstances, and has developed a system of teaching methods based on positive reinforcement. The former typing teacher turned reading teacher utilizes brightly colored laminated word boards to teach first graders and other young students, high school and college level vocabulary.
