First off, I’d like to say I have enjoyed your newspaper since I moved back to New York in 2000. The article that really got my attention was in your issue, Vol. 21 No.35 Jan 19-25, 2006, page 9, Street Talk. Your question was “Do you think cell phone use should be allowed on subways?” a Street Talker named Norman McCallum of Jamaica has a very good point about technology. He states: “I think being a business person…I don’t want to be disconnected. But I don’t want cell phones to be used to set something off.”
Which made me think . . . Are we willing to use our every day, necessity things, and not realize that it may turn into something that can put us in harms way? Think James Bond, it can happen.
Also, I have an idea that goes with same lines as “Street Talk”, how about “Email Talk”.
