Captain Daryl Mazlish, right, of the Jamaica Estates-Holliswood-South Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corps, presents Senator Frank Padavan with a Certificate of Appreciation as a token of their gratitude for the Senator’s support and service to their Ambulance Corps and the community.
In addition to the funding Padavan secured from the State to help the squad deliver valuable lifesaving services, the Volunteer Ambulance Corps was also pleased to be awarded an AFG grant (Assistance to Firefighter Grant) awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The Jamaica Estates-Holliswood-South Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corps was the only squad in New York City to receive this grant, and one of only three in the State. The new funds will go for personal protective equipment, upgraded communications gear and health & wellness programs.
