Responding to complaints about rats in Woodside, City Councilman Eric Gioia (D-Sunnyside) urged neighbors and local businesses to change some habits to prevent vermin infestations.
“There are simple things we can do to keep our neighborhood clean,” he said during a news conference Thursday at Sohncke Square at the intersection of 58th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside. “We're working together as friends and neighbors to help end this problem.”
His office planned to send a letter to local businesses in the Woodside area within Gioia's council district with tips on mitigating the rat problem, a staffer said.
