Councilwoman Melinda Katz and New York City Fire Department Ladder Company 151/Engine Company 305 collected non-perishable foods from generous members of the community and donated the items to the Food Bank of New York.
Katz has conducted five annual food drives that have collected a total of 2000 pounds of food, which enabled The Food Bank of New York to feed over 1000 families.
Katz gave special thanks to Captain Matt Nelson, Lieutenant Carl Italiano and all the firefighters of Ladder Company 151/Engine Company 305 for collecting donations.
In addition, Katz thanked everyone who generously donated food to help NYC families in need.
