Chester Boston, 29, was in the back seat of a 1996 Lexus with three other friends on the Van Wyck Expressway service road in Jamaica at 9:45 p.m. Sept. 27 when he opened the car's center console and took out a loaded pistol, the spokeswoman said.He allegedly held the gun in his hand with his finger on the trigger in the direction of a man sitting in the back seat, she said. But Boston's friend, Bruce Carter, smacked the pistol with his hand, the gun discharged and he was shot in the torso, the spokeswoman said. Boston was arraigned Monday night before Queens Criminal Court Justice Mary O'Donoghue on charges of manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminally negligent homicide and held on $250,000 bail, she said. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted; his next court date is Feb. 27.
