$15G Reward For Missing Teen

A straight-A honor student at MS 202 in Ozone Park, 13-year-old Joel Hamid went missing about three hours after dismissal from school on Friday March 3 according to his parents.
Despite a frantic search by his father Philip Hamid, who was waiting to pick his son up at school, he was nowhere to be found. His father called some of Joel’s friends and was told he visited with a friend named Timothy until 5 p.m. and was seen by witnesses who know the boy eating pizza at Aldo’s Restaurant on Crossbay Blvd and Pitkin Ave., alone, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Another classmate of Joel’s told his parents that she had seen him outside the Twin Towers Karate School on 112th Street and Liberty Ave. on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.
Since that time no one has seen or heard from the teen. Joel’s family is offering a $15,000 reward for any information leading to his safe return.
Although all signs point to the fact that Joel has disappeared on his own, both his parents, Philip and Nalini, claim that this was far from typical behavior for their son.
His family has a message for their son:
“Joel if you are reading this please know that we love you so much and are terribly worried about you. Please call us so that we can come and bring you home safely where you belong. We need you to come home son. Please!”
Joel Hamid is of Guyanese descent and has a light brown complexion, stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a dark blue jacket. He was carrying a black and yellow book bag. Anyone with information is asked to call the family at 718-849-1951; 718-849-7400; 646-739-6172 or 646-302-0243.
