H.E.A.T. warms Queens residents

Councilman James Sanders Jr., in affiliation with the Neighborhood Housing Services of Jamaica, Inc., is offering the Neighborhood Heating Fund known as H.E.A.T. to the residents of the 31st Council District. This fund was created to help low income families with escalating energy bills to help meet their monthly payments.
“I understand this is the time of the year when we receive those haunting heating bills we thought we left behind in December,” said Sanders. “It brings me great pleasure to provide resources that will help alleviate those in need of financial stress.”
To be considered for assistance under the H.E.A.T. fund, you must be a resident of Rosedale, Springfield Gardens or Laurelton, be 60-years-old and over, and you must provide a monthly heating bill or a turn-off notice from your heating company.
The following are the income eligibility requirements:
Family Size Gross Income (Per Month)
1 $1,804-2,500
2 $2,359-3,000
3 $2,914-3,500
