Jeannette Elizabeth Henry of Flushing, passed away on May 29 at the age of 93 at her home of 86 years. Born December 15, 1912 in Manhattan to Thomas and Mary Anne (McGuire) Armstrong, Henry was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J., Deputy Chief Inspector, NYPD. They were among the Founding Families of Holy Family Parish in Flushing. Devoted mother of the late Thomas J. Jr., Jeannette A., Patrick G., and Mary Jane. Cherished and dearly-loved Nana of 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mary Reilly, Joan Armstrong and Brother Thomas Armstrong. Loving mother-in-law of Mary Lou Henry, Mary Anne O’Neil, Stan Mebus and the late Lee Townsend Henry. Also survived by many other nieces, nephews, friends and family members. Henry was lovingly cared for by Ria Mehara. Arrangements were handled by the Frederick Funeral Home in Flushing. A funeral Mass was held at Holy Family R.C. Church. Interment was at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryknoll Sisters, care of Sister Mary Ellen Manz, Maryknoll, NY or the National Center for Padre Pio, Barto, PA.
