RGMVM tournament teams roll

The RGMVM Minor Division tournament team topped St. Albans Little League, 12-0, behind four perfect innings from Nick Lante, who struck out nine, and two RBI apiece courtesy of Paul Hyland and Eric Tully.
The Major Division team did even better, thrashing St. Albans, 18-0, and then the 12-year-olds from the Ozone Howard Little League, 14-0. The western Queens team scored seven runs in the opening inning against Ozone Howard as Nicholas Picht, Marco Martino and Rob Shanley each drove in runs. Patrick O'Reilly added two RBI and Kenny Sumsky drove in three with a single.
Joe Mortillaro was brilliant on the mound, striking out eight of the first nine Ozone Howard batters he faced in a four-inning no-hitter; the only batter to get aboard reached on an error. RGMVM's Major Division team will face the winner of the Broad Channel-Rockaway game later this week.
