Seedling gardens workshop

The Queens Historical Society is helping children discover their green thumbs through an education workshop being conducted on Tuesday, July 18.
As part of its Summer in the Park workshop series, during &#8220Green Thumbs” children will make seedling gardens. The event, which will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is for children in grades three through seven, also includes a tour of Kingsland Homestead and a discussion about Quakers, as well as how they contributed to agriculture in Queens.
&#8220This innovative workshop series for young people utilizes beautiful Weeping Beech Park as a setting for our seasonal workshops, proving the perfect backdrop for summer crafts and educational activities,” said program coordinator Katrina Raben.
Weeping Beech Park is located at the Kingsland Homestead at 143-35 37th Avenue in Flushing.
The cost of the workshop is $5 for materials.
Reservations are required.
