Libraries will open on Sunday

Our borough's greatest resource, the Queens Library, will welcome back Sunday service at the Central, Flushing, Jackson Heights and Elmhurst Community Libraries starting on September 10 except holidays from noon to 5 p.m.
Additionally, Sunday hours will resume at the Richmond Hill and Kew Gardens Hills Community Libraries. All regular service hours will be the same as during the previous school year.
Community members are welcome to come in and make use of educational and cultural programming and the library's other resources, leisure reading, videos and music.
Information and services are also available at the Queens Library website, www.queenslibrary.org. Customers are entitled to the catalogs, databases and encyclopedias and may download e-books, videos, and music. They can renew books at www.queenslibrary/myaccount or by phone at 718-990-8508.
Some of the new events this fall include a new exhibit, &#8220Cultural Redress: Reinterpreting Fashions from the Index of American Design,” opening at the Queens Library Gallery, 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica on Thursday, September 7. The show displays the reinterpretations by contemporary artists of iconic American clothing from the Library's own collections. Admission is free.
