An 11-year-old girl was hit by a car as she attempted to cross Bell Boulevard on November 17. According to Chantal Mendoza's mother, the girl had been crossing with a family friend “and when the car [hit her] I saw her flip.” On-scene witnesses heard the accident and saw the girl, who didn't lose consciousness, roll by the car, a 2002 silver Toyota Camry driven by an elderly male. Mendoza was taken to the Long Island Jewish Hospital.
