Even though 2006 is ending, Queens residents can make a difference by helping the March of Dimes save babies from premature birth and get a last-minute tax deduction at the same time.
You can help by simply donating your spare change at a Coinstar Center in a participating supermarkets or your local March of Dimes office through the month of December.
Donors need only select March of Dimes from the Coinstar screen and use code 1230. The Coinstar Center also provides a receipt for a tax deduction. To find the nearest Coinstar Center with the donation feature, other donation locations, or more information visit www.marchofdimes.com/change.
“It is very important to give to the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes works tirelessly to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Each year, more than 500,000 babies are born premature and we are the only non-profit who has as its mission ending premature birth,” said Robert Storace, a spokesperson for the March of Dimes.
