The Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR) was recognized for raising more than $35,000 for the Ronald McDonald House, Long Island during a recent dedication at the House. LIBOR members from Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties have contributed to the House's Share-A-Night program, a program that waives the $25 per night room fee for economically disadvantaged families. “Our members want to make a difference in this community and we are doing so helping the Ronald McDonald House create a home-away-from-home for families of children undergoing medical treatment,” Gil Picard, president of LIBOR said. Buddy Hoosein, vice president of the Queens Chapter of LIBOR added, “LIBOR is much more than a professional organization; we are a community that seeks to make a difference in the neighborhoods where we do business.” The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island recently initiated a capital campaign to double the size of their Long Island facility. LIBOR's support is part of their ongoing philanthropic program titled “We're More Than Realtors.®”
