His quick thinking and speedy action likely saved a life. Jabber Albihani was at home when, “He heard his neighbor’s cries of distress,” reported City Councilmember Vincent Gentile, who honored Albihani for his deed during the January meeting of Community Board 10. Albihani, said Gentile, “Took it upon himself to investigate and get into the next-door apartment. He found a person in distress, and called 911. Basically, he saved someone’s life.” The smiling Albihani, accompanied by Michael Muzio, the boy he helped, and Michael’s mother, Jeanette Muzio, accepted not only a certificate from Gentile honoring his action, but certificates presented on behalf of Borough President Marty Markowitz, State Senator Marty Golden, and Assemblymember Alec Brook-Krasny. The meeting was held in the community room at Shore Hill, 9000 Shore Road.
