St. John’s University announced its acquisition of Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers School of Allied Health Professions. The agreement consolidates the enmeshed history of education the two have shared for over thirty years.
St. John’s University plans to retain Saint Vincent’s current faculty, staff and administration as well as continuing the education of independent students from other colleges already enrolled there.
The 40,000 square foot building located in Fresh Meadows located at 175-05 Horace Harding Expressway, about a mile and a half from the St. John’s Queens campus, will be renamed the Dr. Andrew J. Bartilucci Center.
“We are pleased that these important allied health education programs are transitioning to St. John’s University as Saint Vincent’s returns to its core function and mission as a healthcare provider in New York,” said Guy Sansone, President and CEO of Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers on Friday, March 2.
The two institutions offered conjoined programs in four-year Medical Technology, Physician Assistant and Pathologist Assistant degrees.
