New Chase Bank branch opens

Three months after taking up residence in a storefront in Howard Beach, Chase Bank held a grand opening for its new branch — complete with a juggler on stilts and caricaturist. Councilmember Joseph Addabbo said that whenever a vacant lot remains open in the neighborhood for a considerable period of time, local politicians and community leaders worry about what sort of business will move in, but when he heard that Chase would move into the spot, he wasn’t concerned. “To see a Chase Bank here brings a tradition of success and service to this area,” he told the crowd of onlookers that gathered in front of the new branch at 156-33 Cross Bay Boulevard.
