Record crowd salutes ‘Women in Business’

More than 750 people paid tribute to an extraordinary gathering of successful “Women in Business.” First Deputy Mayor Patricia Harris, the first woman appointed to this position in the history of the city, gave the keynote speech and was recognized as Woman of the Year. Borough President Helen Marshall, a former honoree, led the awards ceremonies. The “ultimate networking event” featured a business expo, a “teddy bear” raffle to raise money for Life’s WORC, an agency for children with disabilities, and the awards ceremony. JetBlue donated eight tickets to fly lucky winners to any of their destinations.
