Donation helps teach about culture

Sikh community activist Jagir Singh Bains spoke recently at the Queens Library at Briarwood, where he presented over two dozen books and information pamphlets on Sikh heritage and history.
In recent weeks, Bains also attended a United Sikhs’ co-sponsored event for Immigrant History Week at Queens Library-Richmond Hill, “Dastaar(Turban) – My Pride – An Inside Look at NYC Sikhs,” and was the recipient of a community service award from the Eleanor Roosevelt Democratic Club.
