Recognizing Rockaway’s Beauty

At Beach 116th Street and the Boardwalk, Assemblymember Audrey Pheffer greeted the many cyclists and enthusiasts at the beginning of the Queens Museum of Arts’ Bike Tour of Robert Moses’ impact on the Rockaway Peninsula.
The cyclists witnessed first hand the many splendors of the community as they rode along the Boardwalk to Beach 108th Street and then back to Gateway National Park, Riis Park.
Over 50 cyclists came from all over New York City, convening at Beach 116th Street. Some came by car, some via the “A” Train.
“Rockaway has so much to offer for so many, and it is all easily assessible by public transportation,” said Pheffer. “I was thrilled to welcome these visitors to our wonderful community.”
