ABCDF: Portraits of Mexico City is open now through August 20. Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao: Habitat 7 is open through August 20, and Local Words: An Interactive Installation by Sol Aramendi is open now through August 20.

Currently on exhibit by the Queens Historical Society is &#8220Persistence: A Celebration of Landmarks in Queens - Past, Present and Future.” It features color photographs of more than 50 landmarks in Queens. Also included in the exhibit are 10 photographs showing Queens buildings that should be made landmarks. They are on display at the Kingsland Homestead, located at 143-35 37th Avenue in Flushing. The exhibition &#8220Cultural Drift: Understanding Movement and the Immigrant Experience” is on display at the International Resource Center, which is located at the Flushing Library at 41-17 Main Street. The exhibition &#8220Landscape: Expanded Engagement, Extended Space” will be on display at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning from July 1 through August 19. CENTRAL PARK'S ARSENAL GALLERY will be hosting an exhibition titled: Splash! A 70th Anniversary Celebration of New York City's WPA-Era Pools. Exhibition will be available for viewing until September 7. Exhibition will contain vintage photographs that represent the eleven outdoor public pools that New York City opened in the summer of 1936. COPAY Inc., Great Neck’s own community services agency will be hosting a Kids Helping Kids-End of Summer Event on Tuesday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy the educational activities of this anti-gang and leadership program! Queens Library and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) are teaming up again this summer to deliver an art lecture program directly to Queens Library on Tuesday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m. Talk will include an art history survey on the works of famed artists in the forefront of the modern art movement, illustrated by slides. Throughout the month of August, The New York Hall of Science in Queens is hosting a special offer for children! Located at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the Hall of Science was named the Cultural Organization of the month. St. Mark's Episcopal Church will be hosting Jackson Heights Al-Anon, a self-help group geared for anyone affected by another person's drinking. On Saturday, August 5, a memorial for jazz pioneer Bix Beiderbecke will be held at the building where he spent his last days in Sunnyside, Queens. Temple Beth Sholom, located at 172nd Street & Northern Boulevard, will host a Sabbath Eve Summer Service, led by congregation members for each Friday night in August at 8:00 p.m. An Oneg Shabbat social hour will follow each service. Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will make his New York Philharmonic debut performing romantic arias in four appearances with the Orchestra, Wednesday and Thursday, September 6 and 7, at 7:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, September 8 and 9; at 8:00 p.m. Single tickets for these performances are $85 to $195. TheDrillingCompaNY presents its annual summer Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot on July 27-August 16. Theater for the New City's award-winning street theater company opens its 30th annual tour August 5 with Tap Dance, an Opera for the Street. This 2006 summer production will tour streets, parks, and playgrounds from August 5 to September 17.
