Jump and Ball winners

New York State Senate Democratic Leader Malcolm A. Smith was joined by Hip Hop star LL Cool J and surprise athletes and entertainers at the Jump and Ball Championship games where dozens of school-aged athletes performed to win the title of being the best. Jump and Ball is a basketball and double-dutch tournament that has taken place during the entire month of August. The tournament officially ended with an award ceremony during which the winning teams received trophies and other special prizes. The championship game also featured an all-star game with some of the area’s best athletes competing against teams from across the East Coast. One team that played is named in remembrance of slain groom-to-be Sean Bell. Pictured are the Division B winners.
