Putting the ‘ART’ in the ‘performing arts’ in a big way, the Rockaway Artists Alliance (RAA) has announced lively events to take place on and around its indoor stage at the sTudio 7 gallery at Fort Tilden.
Leading off the vibrant and interactive offerings on Sunday, September 30, and carrying forward the popular Gallery Sitters Events series, will be poetry reading by Shirly Holt and an open mike for poets of all kinds.
Holt’s poetic work and artistic talents are also currently on exhibition in ARTSPLASH 2007, featured in the same gallery.
Continuing the successful Summer Moons free entertainment series will be Open Mike Music Nights, held every Thursday at 7 p.m. This ongoing event has already attracted an eclectic string of musicians and singers of all types playing everything from blues to rock to standards to hip hop.
All events and exhibitions are free, as is ample parking.
