Woman lucks into buying spree

On August 7, Forest Hills resident Stephanie Massoud thought she was just going to attend a taping of the Tyra Banks Show in Manhattan, but ended up going home with plenty of goodies for her soon-to-be-born baby.
While standing in line with a friend to go see the show, which aired on Friday, September 21, Massoud was pulled aside by a producer who said they were working on something and wanted to talk to her about it. She was waiting in another room when Banks and new mom Tori Spelling came in and told her they were taking her on a shopping spree across the street to Buy Buy Baby.
Once in the store, Massoud was given two minutes to get as much as she could. Being that this is her first child, (along with her husband, Paul), she looked to Spelling for guidance about what she would need. Massoud said that she pushed the cart while Banks and Spelling piled it full with needed items.
“It was insane,” she said. “Everything was so wild.”
Among the items that Massoud was able to get were a diaper bag, hamper, and sleep outfits, just to name a few. When she told her husband about her good luck, he didn’t believe it at first until he came home and saw everything.
“I got so many things that I didn’t really have to buy much,” said Massoud, whose baby is due in a couple of weeks. “I’m fully prepared without having to really do much at all.”
Massoud said that it was a great experience and that both Banks and Spelling were very nice to her. She also said that they asked her plenty of questions and it was like they were “buddies.” “It was such a fun experience and I was just so lucky that day,” Massoud said. “It was like a dream come true.”
