11-Year-Old Shot, Suspect Wanted

Police have released a sketch of the suspect wanted for questioning in the shooting an 11-year-old Springfield Gardens boy in his own home.

According to reports, Tyshon Falconer answered the door of his two-story brick home at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 30. The suspect asked for Falconer’s older brother, Tony, 16, and when the victim tried to close the
door, the perpetrator shot him once.

The bullet went into Falconer’s chest and through his back. Wounded, he climbed the stairs to get help from his parents. Falconer was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He could be released as early as Thursday, January 3, his father said.

Reports say that neither Tony nor Taylor, 13, Falconer were home at the time of the incident, but that Tony was questioned by police, and that he later acknowledged a dispute that occurred three weeks ago.

The suspect is described as between 16 and 18 years old, 5’9″, with a medium build and black hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
