Two teens have been arrested and charged in connection with last week’s gang-related shooting near the Queens School for Career Development. The incident forced the school into lock down for two-and-one-half hours.
According to police, officers on patrol in the vicinity of 142nd Street and Linden Boulevard observed a dispute involving several males. They then heard shots fired and discovered an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the collarbone at the scene.
A police Sergeant who arrived on the scene encountered the suspect, a black male, who fired his gun at him. The cop then discharged his firearm, with no injuries.
Police arrested 16-year-old Carl Bernard. He has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The second suspect in custody is identified as Joseph Walker, 19, charged with attempted murder in the second degree and assault.
