BANK NOTE BUILDING SOLD; OVERHAUL PLANNED

By Jeni Asaba

What once was a tower representing strength and success in Hunts Point will receive an overhaul and again become a beacon for change and progress in the south Bronx.

Taconic Investment Partners and Denham Wolf Real Estate Services recently purchased the American Bank Note engraving plant, a 400,000 square foot red-brick, T-shaped building hugging Lafayette, Garrison and Barretto Streets, for $32 million.

Through an extensive renovation project, the companies hope to inspire a new point of view in the community by expanding the arts and offering new culinary options to the community.
