Months after initial news of a Daytop Village facility expansion on Halperin Avenue broke, work at the site has remained at a standstill.
But recent approval from the Board of Standards and Appeals has granted the facility owners the go ahead to begin at least one part of the extension project.
Daytop Village, an alcohol and drug abuse treatment center based at Westchester Square, plans to merge its two facilities by constructing a new building adjacent to an existing center at 2614 Halperin Avenue.
The merge would close the center
