Assistant Chief Thomas V. Dale, Commanding Officer for Patrol Borough Queens South, presented the new commanding officer of 102nd Precinct at a Police Community Council meeting in Richmond Hill on Tuesday, January 15. Charles McEvoy, who has been in office since January 2, has previously worked at the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn.
At the council meeting, McEvoy honored two of his officers, Sergeant Danielle Raia and Officer Richard Fragipane, for their outstanding work in seizing 27 illegal fire arms, “preventing innocent people from getting injured.”
“What a wonderful job the 102nd Precinct has done, given the budget,” said Councilmember Joseph Addabbo, who also attended the meeting, and congratulated the precinct for having the lowest crime rate in Queens. Addabbo also told members of the community and the two dozen officers gathered at the Moose Lounge that he was trying to procure the much-needed and overdue salary raise for the police officers. “Even the mayor acknowledges that the issue will get resolved,” he said.
