Additionally, all No. 7 service will be suspended between the Main Street and Woodside-61 Street stations for at least five weekends, Jan. 12 – 14, Jan. 19 – 21, Jan. 26 – 28, Feb. 2 – 4, and Feb. 9 – 11. The service will suspended at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and resume at 5 a.m. on Monday, the MTA said.
Free Long Island Rail Road trains and free shuttle buses will provide alternate service, the MTA said.
The reduction in service allows the MTA to install a new signal system on the No. 7 line. Currently, when a local train is rerouted to skip stations due to an emergency or track work, it must skip the 74th Street transfer station, the MTA said.
