Senior citizen groped

By Tom Tracy

A sick straphanger exposed himself and then groped a 71-year-old woman on a N train traveling through southern Brooklyn, area cops said this week. Armed with a surveillance photo, cops have begun a full court press for the man wanted in the January 22 attack. The victim told police that she was on a train rumbling toward the Fort Hamilton Parkway station at 11 a.m. that Tuesday morning when a Hispanic man between 25 and 35 flashed her. He then molested the woman before disembarking the train car at Fort Hamilton, police were told. No serious injuries were reported. Cops described the assailant as between 5’7” and 5’8” with a thin build. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black ski hat, and a red and blue coat and black and white sneakers. This attack took place roughly a week before a 29-year-old woman claimed that she was raped on a northbound N train between the Stillwell Avenue and the Kings Highway stations. The attack took place just before 5 a.m. on January 30, officials said. It was unclear if the two attacks were connected as this paper went to press. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the man sought in the January 22 attack to come forward. Calls can be made to the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
