Follow the money – find the crime

It all began when the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) noticed the governor’s large bank transactions so the agency called on the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to find out if the 48-year-old politician was involved in major corruption, according to published reports.

After investigating, the feds discovered that the money had eventually ended up in the hands of the high-priced sex ring Emperors Club VIP through a bogus company, QAT Consulting Group.

According to the FBI, on Valentine’s Day eve of 2008, Client 9, who was not identified by name in the federal affidavit, arranged to be visited by a prostitute in his Washington, D.C. hotel.

The john, who is believed to be Spitzer, referred to the transaction on a wiretap, as “same as in the past, no question about it.”

Before the prostitution ring received the cash, Client 9 spoke to its managers about whether a $400 credit would be enough of a deposit for services.

Officials charge that the john also paid for train tickets, cab fare, travel time, mini bar bill and room service for the prostitute named “Kristen” and left her the hotel room for the night.

The federal affidavit does not identify the hotel. However, Spitzer is believed to have stayed at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel on February 13 under the name George Fox.

Client 9 left more than an hour before the end of his four-hour session with “Kristen” who was described by the call-girl service as “an American, petite, very pretty brunette, 5-feet-5 inches and 105 pounds.”

Before departing, he paid Kristen $4,300, a bit more than the $1,000 an hour rate and in part to pay for future trysts, officials believe.

Kristen then called her madam to say that she thought the encounter “went well,” according to the complaint, and that she had fended off a request to engage in unprotected sex.

Sources said in published reports on Tuesday, March 11 that the governor had employed the services of prostitutes for at least six years and at least six or seven times.
