Cops were dispatched to the Bank of America at 1502 Kings Highway last week after a note-passing bandit raided the place of its receipts. Police said that a six-foot black male in his thirties entered the bank just before 1 p.m. on March 27. After waiting on line, the thief nonchalantly walked up to the teller and passed a note demanding that the teller empty out her cash drawer. The thief claimed to have a gun in his note, although no weapon was shown, officials said. The teller handed $2,000 to the thief, who was last seen fleeing the area northbound on East 17th Street. No injuries were reported. Police said that the thief was about 180 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. The March 27 heist marked the first time a Kings Highway bank was robbed in recent memory. Anyone with information regarding the bank robber’s whereabouts is urged to come forward. Calls can be made to the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
