Co-op residents demand improvements

We live at the Windsor Oaks Tenants' Corp. in Oakland Gardens and are puzzled and disappointed with the administration and management of our development.

We are families with small children and elderly parents who are writing this letter to voice our concerns about what is going on in our development. We are not being taken care of by the WOTC board of directors, management, staff and attorneys who we pay to represent us. While the grounds appear lovely, looks are deceiving and many important issues go unseen or are denied and ignored.

Specifically, we are concerned about the ongoing problems of drugs, drug dealing and prostitution we witness regularly. We are upset that what is seen and heard by so many of us is ignored by those who are in charge of the co-op. Most of us came here because of the outstanding school district, so we could send our children to PS 205. We take no pleasure in writing this letter, but we do not want to see our community decline any more and our apartments become a slum.

It is clear to us that without outside pressure, no change will be made. Perhaps this letter will motivate the management and lawyers to work and promote the safety and general welfare for the residents of the Windsor Oaks Tenants' Corp., not only the needs of an underserving select few.
