FRESH MEADOWS The borough's center for cancer and blood disorders at Queens Medical Associates officially announced last week the opening of a new facility within the Union Turnpike building to manage patients' pain.
Dr. Ji Han is the director of the new Center for Interventional Pain Management at Queens Medical Associates in Fresh Meadows and board certified in anesthesiology. He completed a tri-institution fellowship in interventional pain management at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell, Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering. Han has also headed the office's pain management services since July 2007.
The center is at the rear of the Queens Medical Associates suite, with its own patient exam rooms plus a mobile fluoroscopic imaging system that Han uses to help guide his treatments, staff said.
“We do radio frequency ablation, epidurals and various types of blocks,” Han said of the center's services.
He is able to treat lower back and leg pain at the center, along with spinal stenosis, failed back surgery syndrome, cancer pain, and injuries related to work, whiplash and sports.
