At the first annual Volunteers of Valor Celebration, Senator Serphin R. Maltese honored Frank Reina as a “Volunteer of Valor” at a ceremony in the State Capitol to pay tribute to hardworking volunteer firefighters, EMTs and Auxiliary Police Officers whose selfless contributions and commitment “merit special recognition.”
“We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those who selflessly volunteer their time to help others,” said Maltese. “I am proud to present this award to Frank Reina for all the tremendous work he has done and his dedication to the communities of Queens.”
Reina serves as the Auxiliary Police Coordinator and the Graffiti Coordinator for the 106th Precinct. He has coordinated hundreds of graffiti clean-up campaigns throughout the neighborhoods in the 106th by working with over 100 local volunteer groups. He also oversees local blood drives and coordinates food bank donations, coat donations and the local Toys for Tots drives during the holidays.
At the awards ceremony, honorees from throughout the state received a distinction certificate and had their names added to a permanent roll of emergency volunteer recipients who share their commitment to their communities.
