JAMAICA — A New Jersey man was arrested on a range of charges after he ran through a Long Island Rail Road train at Jamaica station last week while allegedly making a bomb threat, the Queens district attorney's office said.
Virgilio Ruela, 38, of New Jersey, was arrested by the LIRR Police after he ran down the center aisle of a train in Jamaica station, carefully holding his knapsack out in front of him, while allegedly yelling “Bomb, bomb, bomb,” the DA's office said.
Ruela's actions and the ensuing commotion caused the train to be stopped, according to the complaint filed in Queens Criminal Court. When LIRR Police tried to arrest Ruela, he flailed his arms to avoid being handcuffed, yelled obscenities and cursed loudly, the DA's office said.
Ruela was arraigned last week on charges of falsely reporting an incident, resisting arrest, menacing, disorderly conduct and harassment and was held on $15,000 bail, the DA's office said.
