The 12-year-old stole the show in RGMVM’s Section 3 semifinal victory over Forest Hills. In the 9-3 romp, he drove in two runs with an opposite field single in the second and laced a solo homer over the right field wall in the fourth.

Acosta has been an integral part of the 11- and 12-year-old travel team from Western Queens representing Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and Maspeth that has won two consecutive Section 3 championships, took home the New York State crown last year and has dreams of making it to Williamsport, PA. for the Little League World Series. They will meet South Shore (Staten Island) in the Section 3 final Wednesday night in Harlem.
