Cop fires back on shooter

A man who shot at a police officer on a St. Albans street was wounded after the cop returned fire.
The off-duty NYPD officer, a Department of Transportation employee and a correction officer were on foot on Sunday, July 13 near Farmers and Linden Boulevards when they came upon a group of men assaulting a man.
The NYPD officer identified himself in an effort to break up the fight, but one of the assailants allegedly pulled a gun and started firing. The cop then shot him in the left arm and leg.
All four suspects fled but two were later arrested: Stephon Allston, 22, charged with attempted murder; and Rasheem Anderson, charged with gang assault.
