Graci club installs officers

The Angelo Graci Republican Club in Ozone Park recently installed its officers for the upcoming year, before adjourning on its summer recess.
The membership returned its executives to their offices in an election at their regular meeting on Thursday, May 22, at the Christ Lutheran Church Community Center, located at 86th Street and 101st Avenue.
They are: Bernard Solow, president; Rosemary Duffy, vice-president; M. Susan Seinsoth, secretary; John Naudus, treasurer; Joseph Giglia, sergeant-at-arms; Dolores Williams, chair and Marie DeVito, vice-chair.
The oath was administered by Eric Ulrich, a Republican district leader and former president of the club (2005-2007).
The club, founded in 1984 as the 38th Assembly District Regular Republican Club, found itself re-districted into the 23rd Assembly District in the 1990s and had to change its name.
Then, in May of 2006, they took the name of former Assemblymember, New York State Supreme Court judge and Republican stalwart, Angelo Graci.
“We’re a vibrant, growing club and we look forward to supporting our candidates,” Solow said.
Solow said they were looking forward to the November elections, and were gratified with the addition of seven new members and more applications in recent months.
At the meeting, Ulrich took the opportunity to endorse newly-elected City Councilmember Anthony Como for the upcoming November elections.
Como had defeated three other candidates in a non-partisan special election in June, including former Republican Councilmember Tom Ognibene. Ulrich supported Ognibene in that race, citing a long-time friendship.
Ognibene has already voiced support for Como in November.
“It’s time to move forward and speak with one voice,” Ulrich said, adding, “We need to move into November as a unified Party.”
