Queens resident seeks help on West Nile

After reading your article on the West Nile Virus, I thought you could help me.

A few years ago, my street was repaved and I never had a problem with standing water before the repaving. Now every time it rains or neighbors water their lawns or wash their cars, however, water winds up in front of my house. It forms a pond until it dries up.

I wrote to the city Department of Health as far back as October 2006. When the DOH said that it was checked, it was the wrong address, which does not exist.

Someone needs to check my block, especially in front of my house and across the street from me after it rains. With hot weather here and all the rain we will have, it could be a West Nile problem.
