It is disgraceful that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority wants to raise fares. The people of this city are already overburdened with the high prices of gas, food and rent and high property taxes and mortgages.
What right does the MTA have to further burden the public by proposing this outrageous plan? What happened to the surplus money in the MTA treasury? New Yorkers are fed up with the ever-increasing price of everything.
We must let our elected officials know that we are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
