KEW GARDENS — A Jamaica man is set to be punished for killing a friend over an argument over a borrowed SUV, the Queens district attorney said.
Emmanuel Brody, 28, of 108-54 159th St., was found guilty Sept. 17 of murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges. Brody had killed Albert Johnson Aug. 7, 2005, during a verbal altercation over Johnson's GMC Suburban, according to DA Richard Brown.
“Ultimately, the defendant obtained a gun and tracked down the victim, resulting in one man laying dead in his car and the other now facing a lengthy prison sentence,” he said in a statement.
Brody shot Johnson three times in the body and once in the head as he was sitting in the vehicle that was parked outside 07-02 142nd St., Brown said. He fled the scene, but was apprehended a year later in North Carolina.
A sentencing date was set by Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory L. Lasak for Oct. 6. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison, according to the DA.
