State Senator Serphin Maltese has announced that he has secured nearly $500,000 in critical funding for a street lighting project that will bring new lighting to four streets in Richmond Hill.
The project is slated for the following streets:
Lefferts Blvd from Hillside Avenue to Jamaica Avenue
Hillside Ave from Lefferts Blvd to Myrtle Avenue
117th Street from Myrtle Avenue to Jamaica Avenue
Myrtle Avenue from Jamaica Avenue to Park Lane South
“I am very pleased to provide the funding for this project that will not only improve the safety of these streets with better lighting, but also enhance the aesthetics of the area,” said Maltese.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) has estimated the project will cost $488,358. They will now move forward with the project. The Senator has previously secured funding for similar projects in Glendale and Ridgewood.
