Triangle renaming in honor of civic, business leader

The triangle at Pitkin Avenue and Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park was renamed in honor of Attilio W. Panzarella. It was dedicated by the Ozone Park Kiwanis Club, of which he was the founder and president. Panzarella, born in 1919, was an attorney, realtor and builder who opened his first office in Ozone Park in 1953, moving into Howard Beach in 1958. Civically, he was co-founder of the Howard Beach Kiwanis Club, Ozone Park Civic Association, the 106th Precinct Youth Council, the South Queens Boys Club and the Howard Beach Chamber of Commerce. “I think of my father often, and feel we are still very much ‘in touch’ through the shopping center and office complex he built on Cross Bay Boulevard, that I still operate,” said his son, Arthur J. Panzarella. “I am proud that my father has been honored with a memorium from his cherished Kiwanis Club and South Queens Boys Club.”
