Bernard Sydnor

QPTV Producer Bernard Sydnor, 69, passed away on October 27 after an accident.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and was the Press and Publicity Chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Queens for 17 years.
“Bernard was a big, rough, tough guy, but he was a sweetheart underneath it all,” said QPTV Executive Director Dan Leone. “He was very well liked.”
Professionally, Sydnor was a former telephone electrician with Local 3.
The proud father of two sons, he was also producer of the cable series, “NAACP Today.”
“Sydnor was an avid promoter of quality education for our youth, voter registration and the protection of our collective civil liberties,” said QPTV staff members.
