Carl Angeleri

Access Producer Carl Angeleri, 96, produced the series “Fresh Meadow Poets” for many years. He passed away from complications from a stroke.
With QPTV since its inception, Angeleri could also be seen, very often, behind the camera assisting other producers with their studio productions.
“Carl was well liked in the community,” said Leone “and he produced program right until the day he passed away.”
Born in Natick, Massachusetts in 1912, Angeleri was a veteran of the Second World War and was part of the D-Day Allied invasion force that landed on Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944.
Following the war years Angeleri, who played acoustic bass, became the leader of a cruise ship orchestra. It was at that time that, in 1953, that he met Lucy Milner - a poet, jazz pianist, singer and founder of the Fresh Meadow Poets - whom he married a year later.
“There’s a wonderful word in the English language that describes Carl well: ‘Magnanimous,’” said colleagues. “It derives form two Latin words, ‘Magna’ meaning great and ‘Animus’ meaning spirit. It means to be noble in heart and generous in forgiving: in essence to be of great spirit. Such a man was Carl.”
Angeleri is survived by his daughter Sandra; stepsons Michael and Alvin; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
