Juniper Park Civic turns 70

The Juniper Park Civic Association, which serves Maspeth, Middle Village and parts of Elmhurst, celebrated its 70th anniversary at a party on the evening of Saturday, November 1. “Everybody was having fun,” said Christina Wilkinson, press secretary of the association. “It was nice to look back on all the things the civic association accomplished.” One the Association’s biggest achievements over the past year has been the saving of Saint Saviour Church in Maspeth, a historical asset built in 1847, by disassembling it in order to relocate it to Middle Village, said Wilkinson. The reassembling of the church will start next year, Wilkinson explained.
