2008 was a tough year. Hundreds of families lost their homes, thousands of people lost their jobs and thousands saw their retirement savings slashed by the Wall Street collapse.
But we remain hopeful that the best times are to come. On Jan. 20, Barack Obama will become the United States’ 44th president, bringing new hope, vision and talent to Washington. We have been impressed by his cabinet selections and there is reason to believe he will be more sensitive to the challenges faced by large, urban areas, such as New York City, and the need for better healthcare and schools.
